EdTech | Google Forms

Google Forms is a great tool to use for gathering information anonymously or as an assessment tool to check for level of understanding. Google Forms is available as a part of the Google Apps for Education package (think Google Drive, Docs, etc.). With Google Forms, you can easily create items such as surveys, opinion polls, quizzes/tests, questionnaires, or invitations right in your web browser — no special software is required! Even better, multiple people can work at the same time, and every change is saved automatically.

Google Forms is a great tool to gather information, including:
  • View the Student Information (name, phone number, email, etc.)
  • Current understanding of key concepts
  • Feelings about their understanding (i.e. critical evaluation of their own learning)
  • Lingering questions
  • Requests for support exercises
  • Instructor feedback/attitude towards class

When ready to share your survey, send it via email, hyperlink, or embed it in your D2L course! Surveys will remain open until the Accepting Responses option is turned off. View response charts and short answer responses by selecting the Responses tab. Then analyze the responses using the real-time response charts, or export data to a spreadsheet.

Google Forms are completely customizable! Create a survey that is perfect for every situation, every time.

  • Create your own unique form, or choose from a set of themes/templates to set the tone.
  • Choose from a list of question options (multiple choice, short answer, linear scale).
  • Add images or YouTube videos, as well as select from a variety of add-ons.
  • User-friendly: easy to make, edit, and respond to forms on screens big and small.
  • Responses are neatly and automatically collected, with real-time response info and charts.
  • Add collaborators to let anyone- students, colleagues, and friends- build your survey with you.

Instructors must request access to a Google Apps account by contacting the LCC Help Desk at (517) 4835221 or lcc1@lcc.edu. Students automatically have a Google Apps account created upon enrollment. To use Google Apps, both students and instructors must integrate their LCC Google Apps account with their D2L account.
