Creating Rubrics

  1. From the Assessments drop-down menu on the Navigation Bar, select Rubrics.
  2. Select New Rubric.
  3. Enter a Rubric Name.
  4. Select the Rubric Status.
    NOTE: While Instructors can set the status of a rubric during creation, it is recommended that the status of a rubric be set to draft until it is ready for use.
  5. From the Type drop-down menu, select Analytic.
  6. Enter the number of Achievement Levels.
  7. Enter the number of Criteria per level.
  8. From the Scoring Method drop-down menu, select Text Only, Points or Custom Points.
  9. Set the Rubric Visibility.
    Multiple options are available when creating rubrics.
  10. Under the Advanced Availability section, check that the Checkbox is selected for Competencies.
  11. Select Save.
