Wordle: Stunning Word Clouds

Wordle is a free program used to generate stunning word clouds based on the text provided by you! The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text; therefore, type the same word multiple times to increase the text size. Enhance course assignments, lectures, and D2L courses by adding word clouds to drive home content and course topics.

Customize your word clouds by selecting from different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like! Word clouds can be printed, or saved as an image file or PDF.

Copy and Paste, or type, a word list into the Wordle text generator….

Please note that Wordle uses the Java browser plugin. Verify that Java is properly installed and up-to-date on your computer and that your web browser is configured to permit its use. You must use Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari when creating word clouds using Wordle. The Chrome browser does not support Java plug-ins; therefore Chrome cannot be used with the Wordle program.
