Express Links in D2L (Mac)

IMPORTANT NOTE: These instructions are based on the Mac operating system.

  1. Navigate to the document on Express you wish to create a link to in D2L.
  2. Right Click on the File you wish to link to.
  3. Select Get Info.
    Select Get Info.
  4. Copy Link Information from the Server information.
    Copy the link information from the Server information
  5. Within D2L, select Content.
  6. From within the desired module, select Upload/​Create.
    Select the Upload/Create button
  7. Select Create a Link.
  8. Add a Title, and Paste the link into the URL textbox.
  9. Change the 1st half of the link to read http://​express​.lcc​.edu/
  10. KEEP THE 2nd HALF! The remainder of the link (/faculty/<userid>/examplefolder/exampledoc.docx) should remain in place.

    NOTE: DO NOT include any spaces or special characters (i.e. %, ?, *, etc) in the file names or the link may not work.

    The link text must follow a specific format
  11. Select the Checkbox to Open as External Resource.
  12. Select Create.
